Define a metric before asking AI for a report.

Clarify what your team counts before handing a recurring report to an assistant.

THE RESULT TO AIM FOR

A definition sheet with confirmed rules, references, examples and decisions still waiting for the owner’s review.

What you need

One metric your team uses, someone who knows its rules, existing definitions and a few anonymized examples whose meaning that person can confirm. Use only approved documents in an approved assistant. This pilot drafts a sheet through an interview; it connects no warehouse and installs no Nodal software. An AI-written definition remains a draft until its owner confirms it, and does not prove a future report will be correct.

Getting started

  1. Choose one metric, such as qualified enquiries, and name the person who can confirm its definition.
  2. Have the assistant ask a few questions about what is counted, the period, exclusions and sources. Keep the answers and unresolved points.
  3. Have the owner review the sheet and check two known examples. Record explicit approval and its date; leave unconfirmed points open before using the sheet in a report.

What you can measure during a pilot
