Review software updates before approving them.
Prepare a review of three proposed updates to a website or business application, with evidence a maintainer can check.
A table of changes, affected functions, completed checks and outstanding verification for the technical owner.
What you need
Three authorized update requests with versions, code differences, release notes and dated test results. Supply only approved material, without secrets or customer data, and name a technical owner. Passing tests or a compatibility score do not guarantee application security.
Getting started
- Choose three updates and gather their sources, where each library is used in the project, and existing check results.
- Request a record for each change, linking every finding to a file, release note or check result.
- Have the technical owner review every record, perform missing tests and decide on any code change or release.
What you can measure during a pilot
Information quality, missed actions and preparation time.
